Greater Gifts
“Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. And yet I will show you the most excellent way.” 1 Corinthians 12:31
I pray the Greater Gifts series was inspirational and helpful to you. As a community of faith, we move forward in our faith journeys together. We are connected together. Intertwined. Woven. As the apostle Paul would say, “When one of us suffers, all of us suffer together” (1 Cor 12:26). Together, we have stood at the banks of the Jordan River with John the Baptist and repented of our sins. Together, we remembered our baptisms and renewed that covenant with God. Together, we recognized that the gift of the Holy Spirit is vital for our journeys of faith and that same Spirit bestows upon each of us spiritual gifts to be used for the common good (Spiritual Gift Assessments are still available). Together, we have come to understand that one person’s gift is no better than another person’s because it take all of our gifts to make the Body whole. Together, Paul revealed to us that the gift of love is the greater gift – is the most excellent way. Love must be the fuel that powers our hearts, minds, bodies, and our souls – as individuals and as a community of faith; the Body of Christ; the Church; the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in the here and now. Your next step will affect our next step, because we are in this journey together. We are connected through the love of God in Jesus Christ by way of the Holy Spirit.
